"Eco Adventures is a one-week hands-on camp where kids ages 8-13 train to become planet-saving superheroes through gardening, science experiments, sustainability missions, clean living, and wildly fun challenges every single day."
Each morning includes TWO action-packed hero sessions filled with games, scavenger hunts, mystery missions, creative projects, taste tests, potion making, upcycling, and outdoor exploration. Kids will earn hero badges, unlock eco “powers,” and graduate as official Earth Protectors by the end of the week.
On top of that, in the afternoon, Maple Center Integrative Health will have cooking, mind and body connection experiences, cooperative art making, and sharing wisdom circles.
MONDAY: EARTH GUARDIAN TRAINING
Session 1: Explore the community garden, dig into soil science, meet worms and pollinators, and plant your own “power seed” to grow at home.
Session 2: Blindfold veggie taste tests
Afternoon Session: Garden to Table Salsa Make & Take Class - Kumi McGuire & Miren Beristain
"Discover the magic of fresh ingredients! This class teaches kids where their food comes from by letting them work with raw, vibrant veggies. They'll get their hands dirty—well, hands-on—as they learn to chop tomatoes, juice limes, and pick the perfect cilantro. It's a fun, engaging way to get picky eaters excited about eating fresh, healthy foods."
TUESDAY: TOXIN DETECTIVE ACADEMY
Session 1: Become an ingredient detective to uncover the hidden secrets inside lotions, shampoos, plastics, and snacks.
Session 2: Make your own detergent powder.
Afternoon session: Make a Difference in Your World - Kathy Gotshall
Explore ways to make a difference in your world through creative problem solving and cooperative art making. Using found objects and paint, campers will cultivate their hidden superhero qualities through a group project for the reThink community.
WEDNESDAY: THE ZERO WASTE CHALLENGE
Session 1: Race against Trash Mountain in a giant sorting challenge to see what can be composted, recycled, reused, or rescued.
Session 2: Run the plastic Shredder and see what beautiful artwork is made from waste plastic
Afternoon session: Eco-Harmony: Soundscape of Nature – Jaclyn Cooper
Discover how to cultivate calm through the power of sound and breath. Using percussive instruments like shakers and rain sticks, campers will create a natural soundscape to ground themselves while learning how intentional breathwork connects them with the earth's rhythm, providing them with practical, grounding tools for their everyday lives.
THURSDAY: THE HEALING HERO LAB
Session 1: Visit the healing herb garden to smell, touch, and learn about herbs
Session 2: Create herbal lemonade
Afternoon Session: The Science of Yoga - Richard Rodgers - Warrior's Respite

Session 2: Graduation celebration with certificates, family showcase, hero promises, photos, and a final mission to protect the planet all summer long.
